When Graduation Ceremonies Are Not One Size Fits All

We are knee-deep in the pomp and circumstance season…usually featuring packed auditoriums with hundreds of graduates and their families together to celebrate hard-earned goals.

But amid all the photos and tweets from ceremonies I’ve seen shared over the last week or so, one stuck out to me, and if pressed, I’d tell you it’s not really even close.

St. Louis University High School’s Class of 2015 officially graduated at the Peabody Opera House Sunday afternoon, but Arthur Larson, goalie for the Jr. Bills’ state title Water Polo team got his diploma earlier so his father, David, hospitalized since the previous Monday and fighting ALS, could see it happen.

For more information on his battle, check out the Team Frogs page on Facebook

We’ll tell you about another special one later this week.
