STLPreps is the place for student-athletes to tell their own story, in their own words, when it comes to their playing careers and making their college choices. If you’re a student-athlete getting ready to sign a letter of intent on February 4, we invite you to fill out this brief form as a way to announce your decision.
We’re leading off this year’s series with an announcement from De Smet Jesuit Strong Safety Cooper Harrison, who will play football at the next level after conquering leukemia and competing on the Metro Catholic gridiron over the last four years. Here are Cooper’s answers to the STL Preps Commitment Tracker Questionnaire:
College Choice: Quincy
What were the biggest factors in your decision: 5 year MBA program and the camaraderie of the team with their coach.
What Other Schools Were Considered? Benedictine and Valparaiso
Who do you want to thank? Thank you God for guiding me to the right school and
always being there when I need you. Thank you mom and dad along with my brother and sister for supporting me throughout the recruiting process and when I was sick with Leukemia. Thank you Coach Mahoney and The De Smet Football Coaching Staff for teaching to be a better player and a better man. Thank you teammates for being the brothers a guy could ask for. I will miss you guys and I love you so much. Thank you De Smet students for being so good to me and supporting us this year. Couldn’t ask for a better group of brothers to go to school with. Thank you Adrian Bowman for teaching me that hard work conquers all, no matter what size you are. I miss you brother, but keep flying high. Thank you to Matt Biermann, Brett Fischer, Tyler Shaw, and LaMark Brown at the Elite Football Academy for training me to be the player I am today. God bless and Go Hawks!
