One of this editor’s favorite days on the calendar is the day when student-athletes officially sign their letters of intent for college. Their high school careers aren’t over yet, with work to do on the field in most cases and in all cases, in the classroom. With this past Wednesday having marked the early signing period, we’re inviting student-athletes to share what it means to them.
We start with Timberland middle infielder Ian Nelson, who signed this week with the University of Missouri Baseball team.
“It means that I just signed to play baseball the next 4 years at a big time college and that all the hard work in the past years have paid off. It is a day to recognize everyone that has made their dream come true– to play at the next level.”
We’ll add comments and signing day pictures as they come in to firstname.lastname@example.org….get yours in by Sunday November 16.
