Head Coach Patrick Steinhoff brings a savvy backcourt to the floor this year, with a roster of key contributors who have also excelled in other St. Charles West athletic programs. The key to the four-guard attack could be Senior Point Guard Logan Gonce, who will be coming off a fall season spent splitting time between playing football and soccer for the Warriors. “I do believe we have one of the best point guards,(Logan Gonce), in the state. He’s worth coming out to see live,” Steinhoff said. Here are his answers to this season’s pressing questions.
2013-14 Record: 19-9
Projected Starting Lineup: Logan Gonce (point guard) Davis Soderberg (shooting guard) Drew Lauer (guard) Tommy Whitney (forward) Hasaan Decarolos (shooting guard).
Key Newcomers: Whitney, Dre Kelly, DeCarolis, Ben Pado
What’s the biggest question mark entering the season?
“Will our post play be able to produce offensively or defensively. Rebounding will be a huge factor.”
Is there a key stretch of your season’s schedule & why? “December and January in the Meramec and CBC tournament will be a strong indicator on how good we are.”
Our season will be a success if….“If our post players do the dirty work needed to win.”
Our toughest opponent is…“St. Charles high because we play them twice and they are a talented team in our conference.”
