What’s the biggest question mark entering the season? The play of the 3 Sophomores slotted number one on the depth chart in 3 positions and 3 others who are in the hunt and may crack the starting line up by Week 1. They are a talented class, but with all of them seeing some time on the Varsity last year, we need them to step up into their roles quickly and in veteran style.

Is there a key stretch of your season’s schedule & why? Conference play begins Week 3 and wraps up Week 7 (Cardinal Ritter, Duchesne, St. Dominic, & Borgia), but there is always buzz around the district playoffs. We really enjoy the competition and rivalries that are developing in our district.

Our season will be a success if….We get solid performances from our experienced offensive line (4 of 5 starters retuning), our flexbone backfield (3 of 4 starters returning), and our defense (7 of 11 starters returning). We were quite young in 2013 with very few starts to our credit. After many growing pains in ’13 we feel that we have a solid amount of experience that will carry us through the season who are set to mentor our younger players that will be filling a few holes on both sides of the ball.

Our toughest opponent is _______ because: Our schedule has changed drastically outside of the conference. One of our biggest challenges will be the unfamiliarity with the new opponents on our non-conference schedule (Gateway Tech, Priory, Confluence Academy, & the return of Ritter to our schedule after residing in the AAA Small the last two seasons).

Is there something else you want the world to know about your team this year? The Football Team will be sharing an athlete with the Soccer Team this fall. First Team All-State Forward, Matt Rapisardo joined the Football Team this summer as our Place Kicker & Punter. Matt had a great summer kicking the football and we look forward to his contributions on the field this year.
